HIRE A DOULA!

Doulas and Dads

What atrue lovewebcap02bout my Spouse?

Many women, (and more men!) are worried that a Doula will push their spouse out of the picture, providing support that the spouse SHOULD be giving.

This could not be less true.

A Doula’s job is to support the mother as she gives birth, and often the best way to do that is by supporting the mother’s partner, whether that be spouse, parent, or friend. A Doula can provide advice, a pair of hands and feet to play gofer,tim-nathan3sm02 a gentle reminder to ask questions before agreeing to risky procedures, and someone to step in if you need a break.

A Doula can provide continuity of care that the nursing staff can’t, because of scheduled breaks and shift changes.
